Devices

For customers who are using the Device Manager and/or the Transaction Manager, the Devices tab is visible in the left side navigation. This tab allows management of biometric devices, and lists all devices that are being managed within the system.

The following are the primary areas of the Devices tab:

  1. Search
  2. List view
  3. Details view

Search

The left side of the Devices tab includes all of the search fields and criteria that can be used to search for devices. This is a powerful tool to find a subset of devices, or a device. Simply fill out the desired fields to search, and click the Search button.

Important notes:

  • Fields included in search criteria may vary from customer to customer, as it depends on what fields were defined during implementation

List View

The right side of the Devices tab displays the list view of devices. This view includes columns of information about each device, providing a summary of multiple records at a glance. For more information about a single device, drill down into the details by clicking on the Device ID hyperlink.

The list displays all devices by default, and displays the total count of devices. If you have performed a search, then the list will be filtered to reflect that subset of devices. The list view includes pagination for navigating between and viewing large sets of devices.

Primary actions are shown above the table. Add Devices allows the admin to add a single device using the quick fields, or multiple devices using a CSV upload. Devices that are added here are whitelisted for use, and able to send events from the device to the backend server, and sync lists to the devices.

Export Devices to CSV creates an export download file of all devices currently filtered to display. Any exports can be viewed from the Exports tab.

Important notes:

  • Columns included in search criteria may vary from customer to customer, as it depends on what fields were defined during implementation

The Devices tab, Device details view

Clicking on a Device ID hyperlink takes you to the Device Details view. All fields for a specific device can be viewed and edited here (by an admin with permission). In addition, the device can be deleted.

To navigate back to the Devices List, click on the < Back to device list link.
