How long does the capture process take?
The InSight Face capture process is seamless and takes around 1 second. This time is measured from when the subject is naturally positioned in the capture volume to when the InSight Face successfully completes acquisition of high-quality face images.
Will it work with eyeglasses?
Yes, the InSight Face has the capability to capture the face of a user wearing glasses.
Where should people stand to use the system? How tall or short can they be?
Please refer to the diagram below for capture volume specifications. This is based on a nominal mounting height of the InSight Face system for standing users but can be shifted vertically to support seated applications or users in wheelchairs. Note that the subject height range increases beyond the specified numbers toward the back of the capture volume and decreases toward the front of the capture volume.
How is the device managed and connected to a network?
InSight Face supports the Ethernet interface. When connected to Ethernet, InSight Face functions as a network appliance, with a DHCP IP address and web services communications over HTTPS. The device can be managed via its Appliance Manager, which is a web-based interface served from the device itself.
What is the difference between InSight Face and InSight One?
InSight Face is Tascent’s latest generation face recognition system. As compared to InSight One, it offers higher-quality face imaging, and improved functionality in variable lighting conditions.
It has a modular design and is available in multiple configurations including desktop stand, pole/e-Gate, totem, and VESA mount to facilitate flexible deployments. InSight Face is designed around a shorter standoff distance, operating at 0.3 to 2.65 meters (as opposed to Insight One, which operates at 0.5 to 1.2 meters), but still supports a very wide range of subject heights.
How does Tascent support integration?
Tascent Insight Face communicates using a REST-API with a simplified command set for automating the capture process. Whether using Tascent Enterprise Suite or a third-party database solution, the device can be quickly integrated into your workflow.
